After the closed beta ended in January this year, many players have started to sing praises for how the final product turned out, as the moment-to-moment gameplay felt just as satisfying as any mainline Diablo title. It features many returning fan-favorite classes such as Barbarian, Monk, Crusader, Necromancer, Wizard, and Demon Hunter, as well as the potential to expand on that roster with a never-before-seen Diablo class in the future.ĭiablo Immortal hosted a successful closed beta last year, when the developers from Blizzard Entertainment took the player feedback in stride and made adjustments to the game's Boon of Plenty in an effort to make Diablo Immortal's microtransactions more rewarding. While players have been kept appraised of its development process, and even had means of testing the game through technical alphas, many in the Diablo community wondered why Diablo Immortal has been delayed so many times, and when it would finally be out proper.
The design philosophy for Diablo Immortal seems to be simple and straightforward: to adapt the Diablo experience for mobile devices. Though the initial reaction may have been unambiguously negative, the game itself has slowly yet steadily improved its reputation and accrued significant positivity in the court of public opinion, no doubt tremendously aided by the subsequent announcement of Diablo 4 at BlizzCon after. It has been almost four years since Diablo Immortal was announced at BlizzCon 2018 to the shock and disappointment of many Blizzard fans.
